About the Chord & Scale Finder

Explore every chord and scale across the fretboard in any key. Select a root note, then choose a chord type (major, minor, dominant 7th, suspended, diminished, and more) to see all matching voicings highlighted on the fretboard. Switch to Scale mode to visualise common scales instead.

The timbre buttons (Pluck, Clean, Warm, Muted, Distorted, Piano) let you audition each chord in different guitar tones. Click any fretboard position to hear that individual note.

Reading chord voicing diagrams: Each box shows the six strings from low E (left) to high e (right). A filled circle marks where to fret; an open circle means play the open string; an × means mute that string. The number above or beside the diagram indicates the starting fret position.
